Getting to Know Me
I had the good fortune to be raised by a determined single mother that was willing to sacrifice her dreams and goals for the benefit of her 4 boys. Although we lacked many of the material goodies, we had the love and support of each other and the good fortune to be raised in the town of Conshohocken, PA just down the street from a park and the Fellowship House, a community center with a gymnasium. We spent the better part of our childhoods surrounded by caring and nurturing individuals and coaches. Basketball and Athletics were our outlets and way of life.
My father left when I was nine and Mom was left to raise her four boys by herself at the age of 31. She had little money, a high school education, no job, and a 9, 7, 6 and 3 year old. Her fairy tale dreams of marrying Prince Charming and living happily ever after were dashed. At the age of 9, I was involuntarily thrust into the role of "father" figure with my three younger brothers. Mom was a woman of faith and sacrificed greatly to provide a better life for her boys. I learned at an early age about doing without, independence, and self sufficiency. We all came through the experience in good shape but Mom will tell you that dealing with her 4 boys was not always easy on her, or us. She was always there for us and gave us some wonderful words of wisdom to live by; she always told us to take care of each other, "take care of your own" she would say, and "stick together". Here we are the 5 of us 39 years later and we are still taking care of our own and still sticking together.
Mom inspired all of us to be better and to want better lives for ourselves and are families. We were determined to leave a life of poverty and want behind us and embrace a new vibrant abundant lifestyle. My experiences have helped shape me and my philosophy and if we could go from "Welfare to Wealth", well then anyone can. I enjoy seeing the tremendous potential in everyone even those that doubt they have any contribution to make, and helping that person realize those incredible latent talents. By harnessing the powerful combination of both spiritual and physical resources, we all have the potential to create the magnificent lives we deserve. The simple philosophy that the world is a friendly, magical place willing to co-create your world exactly as you desire is something that I've experienced and many others have as well. Here's to the good life.
